Making Moon Water

Making Moon Water

Want to capture the energy of the moon and savor it long after it’s gone? You can with moon water.

What is Moon Water?

So, what exactly is moon water? It’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s water that has been set out under the full moon to soak up all the moonshine goodness. To make it, all you have to do is start with distilled, spring, or filtered water in a large glass container. This can be a mason jar or lemonade style jar with a spigot at the bottom. You don’t want to use plastic because of the chemicals in plastic. You also want your water to be as pure as possible so I use freshly distilled water that has never been in a plastic container.

Add a little natural sea salt. The amount depends on how large your jar is. If you’re using a gallon jug, 1/8 of a teaspoon seems about right. Use this as a guide for smaller containers.

Now “charge” it with your intention. Remember that intention is everything. While it’s not necessary to align your intention with the energy of the moon, it certainly makes it more powerful. Since this is a full moon, you might want to charge it with things you want to get rid of or be free of like old memories, a job that isn’t working for you, or a bad habit. Since full moons are full of energy, you could also charge it with something you want to give more power to. This could be something like more physical energy, more assertiveness, or more money.

Allow your covered, charged jar to sit underneath the moonlight over night. If you have animals, or there are animals in the area, be sure to put it somewhere that they won’t disturb it. You don’t want Fluffy drinking out of your bowl! Some people add crystals around their jar to super charge it. If this feels right for you, go for it.

Don’t worry if it’s cloudy, raining, or snowing. The moon is still out there juicing everything up. If you live in a high rise with no place to put it that receives direct moonlight, you could sit it in the window sill. This doesn’t work as well, but it will still work.

In the morning, take the water in and seal it for use later or use it right away.

What Do You Do With Moon Water?

Okay, now you’ve got all this juicy moon water, what do you do with it? You can use it for lots of things! You can drink it. Notice your intention infusing your cells with this energy as it goes into your body. Some say it tastes really different from ordinary water. You might want to do a taste test to see what you think.

You can water your plants with it. Plants are really receptive to different energies. Notice if they perk up or grow faster.

You can bathe in it. The skin in the largest organ in the body. It’s very porous and takes in everything that you put on it. This is a quick way to get all that intention inside.

You can make a spritz with it. Spaces need freshening. Think of it like Florida water. You can also use it to purify objects.

Rituals may be enhanced when you use moon water vs. non infused water.

What you do with it can depend on your intention. Use your intuition to figure out the best way to use it for your intended purpose.

How Does It Help?

  • The full moon is active energy. You may feel more energized.
  • The moon energy is intuitive. Moon water may put you in touch with your intuition.
  • This water can help you to manifest your intention.

Enjoy! Let me know how it goes. I’d love to hear how you use your moon water to harness the energy of the full moon.
